Water Quality Volunteers Needed

Four Rivers Watershed Watch is organizing volunteer teams to collect samples for water quality analyses and to conduct annual environmental surveys from the streams and rivers in our area.

OUR GOAL: Cooperation among citizens, educators, and agencies to keep our waterways clean and to notify government agencies where specific sites are in need of further investigation.

Four Rivers Watershed Watch has collected nine years of data, and this will be our tenth year of involvement with the statewide effort sponsored by the Kentucky Division of Water (DOW) and other agencies. Sampling will begin in May and we offer orientation and training starting in April for those of you interested in participating in our efforts to keep our vital resource clean in Kentucky.

WHAT ARE WE ASKING YOU TO DO?

1. Attend one orientation workshop where your team and site will be selected
2. Attend one field workshop for habitat and bioassessment training
3. Collect data and samples in May, July and September
- Water chemistry, bioassessment and habitat assessment at your site
